150x275x18 Steel Riding Arena in Texas
One of the most popular uses for our steel buildings is outdoor covered riding arenas. Outdoor covered riding arenas provide shelter for riding all year long, while still allowing for natural light to fill the area and for fresh air to circulate.
Our customer at Rockin Wild Ranch in Texas wanted a covered riding arena in our classic Country Red color with a striking Polar White trim. We used a clear-span design, allowing riders to maneuver freely in and around the structure and perform disciplines from dressage to team roping without obstruction.
Despite the clear-span design and large size of this structure, heavy-duty red iron I-beams keep this riding arena sturdy and structurally sound. This spacious, solid, and well-lit riding arena is engineered to endure severe Texas storms while maintaining the integrity of the covered area.
Texas Riding Arena With High Vertical Clearance
While the average riding arena has a 16’ eave height, this Texas steel riding arena was designed with an 18’ eave height, allowing our customer and their horses to have plenty of vertical clearance. These two additional feet give horses and their riders plenty of room for jumping and roping maneuvers.
Outdoor Steel Riding Arenas Built to Code
As with all of our steel riding arenas, this project was designed to comply with the local building codes. It is engineered to meet IBC-2018 building codes, withstanding up to 110 MPH winds. The roof is also rated to 5 PSF snow loads.
